(London Bullion Market Association) Cette organisation suit et contrôle la cotation des métaux précieux. La LBMA fixe le cours de l’or tous les jours, deux fois par jour. A 10h30, heure GMT et 15h, heure GMT. Cette façon de fonctionner se nomme : le London Gold Fixing.
Comment cela se passe ?
Pour chaque séance de cotation, cinq membres de la LMBA sont présents et interagissent entre eux. Et, simultanément, ces membres demeurent en contact avec leurs clients, pour les tenir informés des évolutions du précieux métal. Ainsi élaboré, le cours d’ouverture s’annonce lors du début de séance. Ensuite, le relais s’effectue auprès des clients par l’intermédiaire de chaque membre ou représentant de l’organisation. A Paris, le cours de l’or est fixé une seule fois dans la journée, par un autre organisme officiel qui s’appelle le CPOR. Ce dernier s’appuie, bien évidemment, sur le fixing de la LBMA, mais peut être un peu différent par le fait qu’il n’est effectué qu’une seule fois.
